Today all 12th grade students that were on campus applied for the State scholarships and grants funded by the Arkansas Lottery. They should be able to show you an email confirmation that they applied. Remind them to keep a check on their email in case more information is requested.
Fountain Lake played in the District Tennis Tournament on October 2, 2023 in Arkadelphia. The girls finished Runners-up as a team. The Girls Singles District Champion for the 3rd year in a row was Lainey Mungle. Paul Combs was the Boys Singles District Runner-up. Paige Davis took 3rd place in Girls Singles and Nolan Kaumeyer took 3rd place for Boys Singles. These four athletes will represent Fountain Lake in the 4A State Tennis Tournament on October 9, 2023 at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville.
Don't forget, school picture day for both the high school and middle school is next Monday, October 9th.

We want to congratulate Jaylen Cameron on an outstanding golf season. Jaylen spent most of the summer playing golf and winning her division in the HSV Jr. Golf tournament and carried her efforts over to the fall by helping her team qualify for the State Golf Tournament while posting a score of 80 and becoming the first girl golfer at Fountain Lake since 2016 to Make All State. We are Proud of you Jaylen, Great Job, your hard work has payed off. Go Cobras!
The Sr. Girls Golf team finished runner up at the 4-4A District golf tournament and qualified for the state tournament held at Cherokee Village in Hardy Arkansas. We want to Congratulate the girls on a great season while recognizing all of their hard work. We look forward to another great season in 2024! Go Cobras!
Fountain Lake hosted Hope in tennis matches on September 28, 2023. The following are results: Girls Singles: Lainey Mungle 8-9, Paige Davis 4-8, Skylar Smedley 2-8, Logan Reddin 1-8. Girls Doubles: Aedan Kaumeyer/Brianna Graves 3-8, Bailey Sullivan/Hannah Norris 4-8. Boys Singles: Paul Combs 8-0, Nolan Kaumeyer 6-5, Luke Norris 4-6. Boys Doubles: Cannon McMullin/Ethan Shaffettt played two matches 8-4 and 8-4. The next match is the District Tournament in Arkadelphia on October 2, 2023.

Students in English 12 classes completed a gallery walk activity in the Library to help them analyze Chaucer's "Prologue" and "The Wife of Bath's Tale" from his masterwork The Canterbury Tales. This activity helped students break the passage down into fourteen sections, which were turned into interactive "stations" by the teacher, Mrs. Oleson.
Nurses visit the FLCHS Anatomy class and teach students how to suture wounds by using sponges.
