Our Youth Advisory Council (YAC) members attended the Hot Springs Area Community Foundation donor reception on Tuesday, December 5. YAC members will select local nonprofit organizations to award grants at the conclusion of the year.

The 7th and 8th Grade Winter Semi-Formal was such a memorable evening! All the students seemed to have an amazing time and we loved seeing them all dance the night away.

Fountain Lake Charter High School would like to announce our 2023 School Winner for the Heisman High School Scholarship: Lainey Mungle.
Thousands of high school senior scholar-athletes graduating with the class of 2024 from 4,129 different schools across the country applied for the scholarship earlier this fall. From this talented group of accomplished, community-minded young men and women, more than 4,878 have earned the honor of becoming School Winners in the Heisman High School Scholarship competition awarded by The Heisman Trophy Trust. The Fountain Lake School District Board of Education regretfully accepted the resignation of Ms. Sarah Inman as Middle School Principal on Thursday, November 30, 2023 effective at the end of the Fall Semester. Ms. Inman will be supporting her parents as they navigate a series of illnesses. We want to express our appreciation to Ms. Inman for her service to the district and send all of our best wishes to her and her family. We are working to hire an interim Middle School Principal for the remainder of the school year.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2024-2025 academic year is expected to be available no later than December 31, 2023!
The FAFSA may be delayed, but that doesn't mean your students' application for college admission should be! Our target date of December 1st to have all applications submitted is almost here! Submitting admission applications early increases scholarship opportunities!
WHAT STUDENTS CAN DO NOW TO PREPARE FOR FAFSA
Prior-Prior Year (PPY) Tax Information: The 2024-2025 FAFSA will use 2022 tax information for students and their families to determine eligibility for federal student aid. They should ensure that this information is completed and accessible.
All students and parents contributing to the FAFSA will need a FSA ID. If they don't already have one, they can create an account at https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch
Cobra Bass Club will hold it's annual Membership Meeting on Sunday, December 17th at 2 p.m. in the Bass Gym Classroom.
Any angler planning to fish this upcoming year must attend this meeting or make arrangements to turn in all membership forms prior to the meeting. Membership forms are available in all the offices or see Coach Mungle.

Miss Bratton and her 5th and 6th Grade Respect360 students delivered a banner yesterday to our Maintenance Staff to show our appreciation. We are so thankful they help get us to school and home each and every day and take care of our school. :)
Jeremy Richard from Entergy spoke to our students during a Lunch & Learn right before Thanksgiving. He discussed the many facets of Entergy including career opportunities and allowed for some great Q&A near the end of each session.

FLCHS Fall Semester Exams will be held on December 21 and 22. All students are required to take all tests, and tests missed for unexcused absences will not be made up. Please ensure your student is able to make it to both days of testing.
There is a volunteer opportunity for FLCHS students Monday 11/20 from 8am-Noon at Walnut Valley Baptist Church as they prepare boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Mr. Robertson will be onsite to sign off on volunteer hours.

Tidwell shared her journey to Miss Arkansas, social impact initiative with students on speech disorders, and completed Thanksgiving cards for our neighborhood residents at Belvedere. Thank you Walnut Valley Church for hosting FLES annual Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast! A special thanks to Maddison Pierce for organizing this event and church members, community members, and FLHS Beta Club for cooking and serving for everyone. Chelsea Bailey, Oaklawn Jockey, and MMA fighter spoke to students during both lunch shifts at a Lunch and Learn in the FLCHS Library Media Center. Chelsea discussed the ins and outs of being a Jockey and brought along several items she must have and use on race day.
