Fountain Lake School District

The Fountain Lake Senior High Lady Cobras played Pottsville on February 2, 2024. The girls got off to a good start to lead Pottsville 14-12 after the first quarter. They cooled off a bit in the second quarter and entered the half trailing 21-18. Coming out of the half, Pottsville gained all the momentum and led by 15 as they entered the 4th quarter. The Lady Cobras grabbed back the momentum at the 6-minute mark and outscored the Lady Apaches 26-5 for the remainder of the 4th quarter and into overtime. They finished with a 50-44 come-from-behind victory. Paige Davis led the Lady Cobras with 25 points of which 21 came from three-pointers. Emma Riley added 8 points and Lainey Mungel added 8 points including two clutch three-pointers in the 4th quarter and overtime.  Coach Matt Carter said, “It was a fun game to be a part of…I was proud of the way our girls fought back and gave [us] a chance to win the game. They did not quit and played hard to the end.” The Fountain Lake Player of the Game was Paige Davis with 25 points. Don’t miss the next game on February 6 against Dardanelle.
