On August 17, 2023, the Fountain Lake Junior High Football Team traveled to Camden to take on their first opponent of the year, Harmony Grove. Coach Justin McArthur said, “We had over 400 yards of total offense and executed very well; the kids played hard and put together an impressive performance." In a 34-6 win, Cooper Buss was 7 out of 8 passing for 175 yards and 1 touchdown; he had 4 carries for 85 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. Peyton Harwood had 6 receptions for 155 yards and 1 touchdown. Carlos Rodriguez added 5 carries for 105 yards rushing while Nate Jordan had 5 tackles and 1 sack. The Fountain Lake Players of the Game were Cooper Buss and Peyton Harwood.
