Dear Elementary Parents,

This letter is a follow-up to the phone message the district sent out, regarding the early dismissal schedule for next school term.  Every Wednesday, during the 2018-2019 school year, our students will be released from school at 2:10pm.  Our teachers will use this extra time to analyze and work with student data.  This data analysis will be used to guide teacher professional development and training to better serve our students.

Transportation options for your child for early out days on Aug. 15th, 22nd, 29th, & Sept. 5th:

  • Be a bus rider at 2:10pm (buses will load each Wednesday at 2:10pm)
  • Be a car rider at 2:10pm (pick up car riders in the car rider line behind the PK-1 building each Wednesday at 2:10pm)
  • Stay at school until 3:30pm (students will participate in supervised activities during this time).  At 3:30pm those students that stay on campus will have two options:
  • Be a car rider at 3:30pm (pick up car riders in the high school cafeteria at 3:30pm)
  • Be a bus rider at 3:30 to the Cedar Mountain Boys & Girls Club (If you are interested in your child attending the Boys & Girls Club on these Wednesday early out days, you must contact the Boys & Girls Club at 501-984-6996 to get sign up details.  This needs to be done by August 3rd, so we can arrange bus transportation for your child to the club that first week of school.)

Transportation options for your child on early out days after September 7th:

  • Be a bus rider at 2:10pm (buses will load each Wednesday at 2:10pm)
  • Be a car rider at 2:10pm (pick up car riders in the car rider line behind the Pk-1 building each Wednesday at 2:10pm)
  • Stay at school until 3:30pm (students will participate in supervised activities during this time).  At 3:30pm those students that stay on campus will have three options:
  • Be a car rider at 3:30pm (pick up car riders in the high school cafeteria at 3:30pm)
  • Stay for our regular FACES program.  This is a free after school enrichment program that runs until 6pm. FACES students are picked up in the elementary cafeteria. Applications for FACES will be sent home the first week of school.
  • Be a bus rider at 3:30 to the Cedar Mountain Boys & Girls Club (If you are interested in your child attending the Boys & Girls Club on these Wednesday early out days, you must contact the Boys & Girls Club at 501-984-6996 to get sign up details.)

We are excited about the opportunity to enhance and improve the learning that your child receives through the intensive data analyzation our staff will be engaged in during these early dismissal days. Contact us at the elementary office if you have any questions (501-701-1708).  Thank you and have a great summer!

Sincerely,

Katie Curry and Steve Freeman
