Superintendent's Message

Dr. MurphyFountain Lake School District serves grades Pre-K through 12 with students from both Garland and Saline County and provides students and faculty with state of the art technology. Fountain Lake has a one to one ratio of Google Chromebooks to over 1300 students in grades K-12 and works to maintain technology that is consistently updated and used in the classroom. Our focus is to build quality relationships with all students to provide a level of support to assist students in achieving their goals academically to prepare them for employment.

In 2017, Fountain Lake School District had an enrollment of approximately 1384 students from Pre-K through 12th grade and continues to make strides in maintaining high levels of incorporating the newest technology such as, “Google Apps for Education” throughout the district to enhance education. The district’s goal is to focus on the individual student and their needs beginning in Pre-K. The district is committed to using technology along with research based materials that will help in preparing all students for success post high school. Beginning in the 5th grade every student will have a PSP (Personalized Success Plan) that will be used to keep the individual focus on each student throughout high school and two years beyond. The district is committed to doing whatever it takes to support all students.

At Fountain Lake, each school is separated by buildings, but the Elementary school, Middle school, and High School are all on the same campus. The mission of Fountain Lake School District is “Supporting Every Student Every day for Success”.

The board of education members are elected to serve three year terms and are dedicated to serving the students of our community. Fountain Lake’s Superintendent Dr. Murphy is excited to be moving into his second year at Fountain Lake. He enters the year developing two district goals creating a community relations plan with staff and community that will identify financial challenges faced by a growing enrollment and focusing on literacy K-12. Dr. Murphy will focus on supporting, monitoring and expanding a culture where high expectations are present for students and staff. Ultimately creating a “destination for education” that serves students to be prepared for an evolving job market meeting the demands of skills needed in the workforce for 21st century employment.
